Thanks for your interest in applying for Philanthropitch Columbus 2020

This opportunity is open to 501c3 organizations currently serving or planning to expand to the Columbus area. We're looking forward to learning more about your work!

The application includes 7 questions that provide our review committee more information about your nonprofit, mission, and approach to creating a sustainable and scalable impact.

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Have basic eligibility requirements been met?
  • At what level has the applicant been able to collect project/program outcomes?
  • Is this project/program financially sustainable?
  • Is this project/program ready to scale?
  • Does your project/program serve the city in which you are pitching?

Before you begin this application, please make a note of the timeline below and put holds on your calendar for all of the mandatory dates, which have been underlined.

Please also note that the person from your organization to pitch at the event MUST be your Executive Director. 

**All applicants must be available to attend the underlined sessions.

October 10, 2019, 11am - 12pm EST: Virtual Application Q&A Webinar

November 6, 2019, 10am - 11am EST: Live Application Q&A at The Columbus Foundation

November 12, 2019: Applications close automatically at 12am midnight and Application review begins

December 10, 2019: All applicants will be notified of their status. Semi-finalists will advance to a phone interview round.

December 11, 2019: Philanthropitch semi-finalists will be announced to the public.

January 7, 2020: All semi-finalists will be notified of their status. Finalists will advance to take the stage at Philanthropitch Columbus 2020.

January 8, 2020: Philanthropitch finalists will be announced to the public.

January 10, 2020, 11am - 12pm EST: Welcome to Philanthropitch Webinar for Finalists: A quick informative session on what to expect during your time as a Finalist and our tips for success!

January 16, 2020, 9am - 3pm EST: Finalist Pitch Workshop: Finalists will attend an all-day workshop focused on articulating the financial model behind the program being pitched and crafting the 3-minute pitch. You are welcome and encouraged to bring additional staff to this workshop that may have a better grasp of your financials/programming should you need to.

January 27-28, 2020: Pitch Practice #1: Each finalist will sign up for a one-hour time slot to meet in person with the Notley team to review a first draft of their pitch and slides.

February 19-20, 2020: Pitch Practice #2: Each finalist will sign up for a one-hour time slot to meet virtually with the Notley team to review final drafts of their pitch and slides.

February 25, 2020: Final Pitch Presentation Slides Due to Notley team

March 3, 2020, 12pm-9pm EST: Philanthropitch Event Day!: The show will begin at 6pm, but please plan to be available starting at 12pm for rehearsals.
